COVID 19 Disinfection for Denver Offices
So much is out of our control during the COVID-19 pandemic, but there are steps that office building mangers and owners can take to create a safer, healthier workplace for employees and customers.
Slow the Spread with a Health and Safety Plan
Evaluate your building to determine potential hazards and opportunities for slowing the spread. Ensure that your ventilations systems are working properly, and increase the circulation of outdoor air as much as possible. We know it’s difficult to work with windows or doors open during the Colorado winter, but opening up as much as possible can help in the spring.
As you evaluate your building, think about hazards that could potentially increase the risk of transmission. These could include common areas where employees gather, like meeting rooms, the cafeteria, break rooms, locker rooms, waiting areas and entries and exits.
Next, adjust accordingly to isolate employees from hazards. This may be moving or rethinking your workstations to make maintaining social distancing easier. Installing physical barriers like transparent shields can help separate customers and employees when it is not possible to be at least six feet apart. For common areas, space out seating, remove chairs or cover them with tape or fabric to promote social distancing.
Using tape marks, signs or decals to mark areas six feet apart can also help guide employees and visitors. Replace high-touch communal items like bulk snacks or coffee pots with single-serving items.
Changing the way people work can also drive down transmission. Encourage employees with symptoms of the coronavirus or direct exposure to stay home for the period of time recommended by the CDC.
